Access

From JLab internal networks

For users, accessing the logbook server from a JLab internal network, logging in with a username and password is only required in order to make an entry or post a comment. Reading log entries from a computer on an internal network does not require authentication.

Your login status will is reflected in the upper right corner of the screen: If you are logged in, you will see your username and a link that will allow you to logout. If not, you will see a form that allows you to submit your username and password. Should you need to log in, provide your Computer Center (CUE) password

From external public networks

You may access the logbooks.jlab.org web server from external networks (your ISP at home, another lab, a university, the jlab_guest wifi network, etc.), however, in this case it will be necessary to authenticate with your CUE username and password before accessing any logbook contents. From off-site it is necessary to log in to read entries as well as to make an entry or post a comment.

Authentication from off-site differs. Instead of a login form at the top of the page, you will instead be confronted with a dialog like the one shown below. Also note, that when you access the logbook server remotely, authentication uses your browser's built-in and there is no "logout" link -- you must exit your browser in order to logout
